CDV view of Sergeant Warren F. Dodge of Co. A, 124th Illinois Infantry, a regiment that saw action at Port Gibson, Raymond, Champion’s Hill, Vicksburg, and Mobile, among other battles. Dodge is listed in HDS as having been a resident of Kewanee, Illinois. He mustered into Company A September 10, 1862; was promoted second lieutenant July 9, 1863; and mustered out at Chicago’s Camp Douglas August 15, 1865. No photographer’s imprint. Measures about 2 1/2” x 4”. Identified in period ink on reverse, signed “Warren F. Dodge / Lt A Co, 124th Ill Infty Vol.” The image came from an album of 124th Illinois members.
