CDV view of Corporal B. F. Hudson of Co. A, 124th Illinois Infantry, a regiment that saw action at Port Gibson, Raymond, Champion’s Hill, Vicksburg, and Mobile, among other battles. Hudson is listed in HDS as having been a resident of Kewanee, Illinois. He mustered into Company A September 10, 1862, and mustered out at Chicago’s Camp Douglas August 15, 1865. No photographer’s imprint. The image appears to be a period copy where the photographer made an image of the original tintype or ambrotype image. Measures about 2 1/2” x 4”, with missing portion of mount at lower-right.. Identified in period ink on reverse, signed “B. F. Hudson / Corpl. in Co A 124th / Ill Infy.” The image came from an album of 124th Illinois members.
