An interesting post-Civil War CDV featuring a composer seated at a desk, appearing as if he is prepared to write a symphony. A highly decorated clock sits on the desk next to his quill and ink. Behind him is a small pump organ. On the reverse is the backmark of photographer C. B. Brubaker of Houghton, Michigan. Brubaker also advertised “Lake Superior Views for sale.” The carte is in very good condition and measures about 2 1/2” x 4”.
