Pictured in this CDV image is an unidentified Union Army private. He wears a N.Y. State jacket with leather accoutrements. A forage caps sits atop his head. There is some insignia device that can't quite be identified, although it resembles a 2nd Corps badge. Held casually in the man's arms is a rifle with bayonet attached. On the reverse is the backmark of Baltimore photographer Edward Lupus. Measures about 2 1/2" x 4". Some dampstaining.
