A nice group of CDV images out of an album that belonged to Dr. William O. Ensign, who had served as a corporal in the 14th Ohio Battery, an artillery unit that saw action in battles such as Shiloh, Kennesaw Mountain, Atlanta, and Nashville. There are twenty-three CDV images in the group, plus one postwar cabinet card of Ensign. Seventeen are of Battery members in uniform, with the remaining seven dressed in civilian clothes. All but three of the men are identified in period ink on the cartes themselves. They are identified as:

The images are generally in good condition. As indicated above, many have backmarks. Many also have ink or pencil notes on the reverse. Most of the CDVs were trimmed to fit within the album.
